Lyrics
Plan by Laura Joy
I’ve got a tiny little kitchen
Where I can spice up chicken
With smiling snowmen plates
Found them in the basement
Best deal in the state
Things are kind of picturesque
Like the postcard hanging over my desk
Rough and ragged with travel
Such idle times so few and fragile
What do you want to do tonight
Sit around and laugh alright
People want some kind of plan
But that’s not who I am
Life sneaks up on me
When I don’t have anywhere to be
5pm on Labor Day
And I just noticed the way
It still smells like morning
Coffee cup sits nearby,
Its grounds still performing
It’s like the calm before the storm
The leaves are changing
The nights are still warm
My mind is running in place
The rest of me sits down and waits
What do you want to do tonight
Sit around and laugh alright
People want some kind of plan
But that’s not who I am
Life sneaks up on me
When I don’t have anywhere to be
I miss the city, I miss my man
I try to go with the flow but the flow is slowing
With more homes than I can count on one hand
I want see where I’m going
Dust needs to settle on where I stand
It’d been a year since my last song
I thought something had gone wrong
It ended up right
Took time to heal feel safe not fight
I’ve always waited for things to end
But I’ve got some idea what’s around the bend
I’ve always sung what I know
Now I know I’ve got a life and a love
