I’ve got a tiny little kitchen
Where I can spice up chicken
With smiling snowmen plates
Found them in the basement
Best deal in the state

Things are kind of picturesque
Like the postcard hanging over my desk
Rough and ragged with travel
Such idle times so few and fragile

Sit around and laugh alright
People want some kind of plan
But that’s not who I am
Life sneaks up on me

5pm on Labor Day
And I just noticed the way
It still smells like morning
Coffee cup sits nearby,
Its grounds still performing

The leaves are changing
The nights are still warm
