Slow Cooker Maple Dijon Drumsticks

Almost every crock pot recipe I’ve made or eaten has come out tasteless and grainy. I don’t know what that says about my crock pot, my recipes, or my tongue… but it’s a fact. So when I found this recipe on skinnytaste, I was skeptical. However, it used drumsticks (which I had just bought because they were on sale), and I already had everything else in my pantry. Hopefully you do, too.
To my delight, it was really REALLY good. And low-maintenance. And affordable. And provided leftovers. Sounds like the perfect recipe for a Starving Artist. I make this every few weeks, usually with a side of roasted broccolini or asparagus and mashed potatoes (to pour the sauce on – DELICIOUS SAUCE ON EVERYTHING). And be sure to check out skinnytaste for more tasty treats!
Ingredients
5-8 drumsticks (skinless if you’re calorie counting)
Sauce
1/4 cup of pure Maple syrup
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar (I use Trader Joe’s)
1/4 cup of Dijon mustard (do not skimp — you need it all)
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
Place chicken in 6 qt slow cooker
Mix the sauce
Pour sauce on chicken (make sure to entirely cover each piece)
Cook on high for 4 hours (but I usually take it out at 3.5)
